Williams, Elsie Jeanene Pennick

September 7, 1934 – March 8, 2019

Elsie Jeanene Williams, age 84, passed away on Friday, March 8, 2019 in San Antonio, TX surrounded by her husband, her three daughters, and a granddaughter. From her birth in Houston, TX on September 7, 1934 to her death she was an inspiration to her family and stayed true to her Christian faith.

She was born to Lillian Dinkins Dabney and Robert Penick and was an only child. She was married to Edward F. Gill from 1954 to 1973. In 1975, in Midland, Texas, she married George Vernon Williams and became a military spouse. The military sent them on adventures to Fort Lewis, Washington and Vicenza, Italy ending up in San Antonio, TX where she worked as a secretary for Diamond Shamrock.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 43 years, George Vernon Williams; daughters Cathy Hopkins, Gena Scott, and Julie Gill; grandchildren Elicia Conroy, Kyle Berg, Ryan Berg, and Kelsie Scott; great grandchildren Lilian Conroy and Daniel Conroy.

Jeanene was preceded in death by her parents, Lillian Dinkins Dabney and Robert Penick; her step[1]father, John Lane Dabney; her grandfather, Oscar M. Dinkins – all from the Hockley, TX area.

 Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at 11:00AM at Northern Hills United Methodist Church, 3703 N Loop 1604 E, San Antonio, TX. Burial will follow at a later date at the Springer Macedonia Cemetery,23391 Macedonia Road, Hockley, Texas.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Jeanene’s name to Northern Hills United Methodist Church.

Young, Joycelyn Peveto

(July 11, 1931 – October 29, 2015)

Joycelyn Peveto Young, age 84 of Hockley passed away on October 29, 2015. She is preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, James Clinton Young and daughter Michelle Renee Young, and survived by daughters, Cathy Vance and husband Ben, Jamie Cox and husband Max, Christy Young and partner Kellie Dyer; grandchildren, Emerson Vance, Bryan Vance and wife Amy, Casey Cox and wife Natalie, Kelsie Clayton and husband Chuck; great granddaughter, Addalynn Michelle Clayton; nephew, Donald Reid as well as numerous other nephews and nieces.

Joycelyn was born in Grand Chenier Louisiana at the old Doxey home in 1931 to Myrtle Ida Doxey Peveto and Edgar Henry Peveto. She was the last descendant born in this historical home. She moved to Orange Texas at a young age during World War II where she attended Orange Stark high school. After graduation, she attended Orange Business school and worked at Consolidated Western. She loved to dance. She met her husband, James Clinton Young of Newton Texas at a dance in Cow Bayou and they were married January 31st, 1953. They eventually moved to the Houston area and finally settling down in Hockley Texas. Several generations of young people enjoyed her hospitality and loving nature. Once the first grandchild was born, she assumed the role of Mee Mee with every bit of her being. She simply adored being a grandmother and was involved in anything and everything and she could be. One could not have asked for a better mother or Mee Mee.

Joycelyn enjoyed spending time with friends and family over a cup of coffee. She loved listening to the waves at the beach, eating seafood and loving on the grand babies, great grand babies and numerous great-nieces and nephews. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be Monday, November 2, 2015 from 5-8pm. Funeral
Services will be Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at 10am at Macedonia
Methodist Church with Bro. Richard Counts officiating. Interment will
follow at Macedonia Cemetery.

Wenzel, Glenn Allen Jr.

Glenn Allen Wenzel, Jr., loving husband, father, grandfather age 46 of
Houston, TX, was taken tragically on April 11, 2018. Glenn’s life exemplified
kindness and the love of Christ in all his endeavors, as he lived by example. He
was preceded in death by his mother, Norma Ray Wilson Wenzel and survived
by his wife, Carol and son Daniel Preston and granddaughters Layla, Kyra,
Serenity and Madison, son Caleb Preston, niece Kristie Darzins and husband
Christopher, niece (God-daughter) Jamie Sornig and husband Matthew, father
Glenn Wenzel, Sr. and wife Betty, sister Benita Wurz and husband Robert,
nephew Robert Glenn Wurz and Casey Strickland, nephew Rodney Wurz,
niece Katie Wurz and Gregg Jeffcoat, great niece Tenleigh Jeffcoat, brother
Steve Siebeneicher and wife JoAnn, brother Kevin Siebeneicher and wife
Judy, niece Nicki Rich and husband Keith. Glenn will be deeply missed by
these and numerous other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and
loved ones.

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 24, 2018 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at Klein
Funeral Home, 1400 W Main, Tomball, TX 77375. Funeral Services will be
Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at 10:00 am at Ashelynn Manor, 25276 Nichols
Sawmill Road, Magnolia, TX 77355, with Pastor Tom Wymore officiating.
Interment will follow at Macedonia Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a gofundme
account has been established on behalf of the Glenn Wenzel, Jr. Family.

Tilbury, Early Mae Bird

Early Mae Bird Tilbury, 92, passed away on January 4, 2022, in Houston, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents William Edward Bird and Mary Humphreys Bird Madden; her two husbands, Jerry Tilbury and Rudolph Pusok; four brothers Sam and Truman Madden, George Bird, and Glyn Madden; two sisters Velva McPike and Verna Rice.

She is survived by her two children, daughter Mary Luverna White and son Thomas Edward Tilbury, daughter-in-law, Leah Tilbury, sister Joyce Curry; six grandchildren Christopher Milton, Charlotte Pugh, Paulette Babich, Kevin Milton, Donald Siptak and Troy Tilbury; ten great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, and dear friends and loved ones.

Visitation will be Monday, January 10, 2022 from 6 – 8 pm. Memorial Services will be Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at 1 pm at Canon Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Macedonia Springer Cemetery in Hockley, Texas
