Baker, William Alfred “Bill”
February 21, 1940 – January 3, 2021
William Alfred Baker, often known as Bill, was born in Houston, TX on February 21, 1940, to Vernon and Mary Ellen Baker, and entered into eternal rest on January 3, 2021, at the age of 80. William graduated from Sam Houston High school, in Houston, and worked the majority of his life in the finance industry. He treasured 57 years of marriage to Frances Sullivan Baker, who passed away in 2019. He was a member of Decker Prairie Church Of Christ. He enjoyed saltwater fishing and traveling; and some of his fondest memories were of trips to the Ozark mountains. He is survived by his nephew Jerry Jones and wife Debbie of Tomball; niece Sharon McFarland and husband Ray of Independence, nephew Ron Jones of Houston, Diane Fields and husband John of Magnolia, and numerous great nieces and nephews. Attaway, Clinton Roy Sr.

Clinton Roy Attaway, Sr. departed this life peacefully in his home in Santa Fe, Texas on March 28, 2018, at the age of 88. He was born March 21, 1930, in Lockhart, Texas to Jesse Guy and Helen Mable Fake Attaway. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Jesse Robert Attaway, Sr. and Donald Dene Attaway, Sr. and great grandson Bryce Daulton-Wayne Attaway. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years Helen Jane Hall Attaway; sons Clinton Roy Attaway, Jr. and wife Sherry, David Burchell Attaway and wife Debbie, Bruce Wayne Attaway, Sr. and wife Nancy; daughter Cindy Lou Attaway Scholwinski; grandchildren Carrie Jones, Marc, David, Bruce Jr., James and Richard Attaway, Michelle Odoms, Michael and Kenneth Scholwinski, Donna Janks and 22 great-grandchildren; and beloved sister Eva Ann “Penny” Chambers.
He graduated in 1949 from Jefferson Davis High School in Houston, Texas. Concurrent to attending high school, he served in the Texas National Guard from 1947 to 1950. In 1951, he completed the Basic Police Training Course at the Police School that was held at the University of Houston by the Houston Police Department. He attended Lee College in Baytown and the University of Houston for additional studies. He continued his service in the Army Reserve until 1953 where he received recognition for marksmanship. In his younger years, he worked as a movie usher at the old Metropolitan Theater in downtown Houston and claimed that was his favorite job. His mother, Helen often doted on how handsome he looked in his uniform. He married Helen Jane Hall on September 23, 1951. While raising their family, Clinton coached baseball for his son’s little league teams. He was also an avid life-long fan of the Houston Astros. He enjoyed travel and went on many trips with his family. He worked for Hughes Tool Company until his retirement in 1986. After retirement, he and his wife continued to travel and seeing the world. They ventured many places, both in the states and abroad. When travel slowed down, Clinton enjoyed spending time with his family and watching the Astros win their first World Series. Go Stros!
A memorial service will be held at Springer-Macedonia Cemetery, 26000 Springer Cemetery Road, Hockley, TX. 77447 at a later date.

Ophelia Inez Mullinax, age 95 of Deer Park, passed away on January 9, 2015.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Albert K Mullinax; sons, James Mullinax and Carl Mullinax; brother Bud Turpin and grandson, Kenneth Mullinax.
She is survived by sons, Bobby Mullinax and wife Camilla, Curtis Mullinax, Sherman Mullinax and wife Lucy; brother, Lester Lee Turpin and wife Marlene; 9 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and other family members.
Visitation will be Tuesday, January 13, 2015, from 11am – 1pm with Funeral Services following at 1pm at Canon Funeral Home with Pastor Allen McClure officiating.
Interment will follow at Springer Macedonia Cemetery.
